read by humans, can be difficult to process automatically due to the mix of
images text and various formats and feeds that websites are comprised of.
Traditionally the task of collecting certain information from a website would
require hours, even days, of sitting in front of the computer, manually loading
each page and cutting and pasting data. Web scraping (aka. screen scraping) is an
automated way to filter out all the structural layout, images and
extraneous information so that we can find, collect and process the
information that it is important.
